Metallica Rocked SLC!!

The Concert was awesome!! I've only had five and a half hours of sleep.

I left yesterday at 2pm to go pick up my co-worker, and we headed down to SLC and we went to the Gateway instead of going to the Energy Solutions Arena. And ate dinner at there food court, because the food at the arena would be an arm and a leg. After we ate dinner we walked over to the arena and got our tickets viva will call. I am in the Metallica club so we got to go in early like a half and hour early before the non club members got too.

So..after we got inside we checked out the cool looking Metallica shirts that they have there to buy. This is my normal thing when I go to Metallica concerts buy a shirt. And I did just that...make that two shirts...well three I got one for my co-worker because he had a crappy birthday. (That shows you that I'm a nice guy) anyways..after the t-shirt buying we went to are seats, we had really good seats. A good view of the stage.

When 7pm hit the first band started playing, their name is "The Sword" I've never heard of them before but they were ok..the guys were dressed up in like 80's style cloths..weird! then the next band to hit the stage was "Down" they were pretty good.

Then it was time for the one band that I came to see and waited for almost four years to see again...METALLICA!! they hit the stage with one of there new songs called "That was just your life" it was awesome!! Then a bit later into there set during one of there songs they had these Metallica beach balls drop from the sky..well..you know what I mean and people were hitting them and kicking them, it was the coolest thing I have ever seen at a concert..some people were even taking them home as a free gift. I didn't get one :(

After the show was over we headed back home..and I didn't get home until about 1am. So here is the setlist of what Metallica played and I will get pics. up here sometime today and I get to download the whole Metallica show to listen to on your Ipod, CD player..whatever plays music.

METALLICA's 'Death Magnetic' Officially Certified Platinum In U.S.

"Death Magnetic", the current album from METALLICA, has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) just six weeks after its release on September 12 by Warner Bros. Records. The CD shifted 52,000 copies in the United States for the week ending October 26, bringing its U.S. sales total to 1.21 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Death Magnetic" debuted atop The Billboard 200 chart, METALLICA's fifth consecutive album to do so, making them the only band in chart history to have five albums debut at No. 1. It breaks the band's tie with THE BEATLES, U2, and the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, all of whom have four No. 1 album debuts. "Death Magnetic" remained at No. 1 for three consecutive weeks.

In addition to debuting at Number 1 atop Billboard's Rock, Alternative, Hard, and Internet album charts in the U.S., the album racked up No. 1 chart positions in 31 foreign countries, including the U.K., Canada, and Australia, and Top 3 chart slots in seven more, including Japan.

METALLICA's first proper tour of the United States and Canada in four years is currently in full swing with support bands DOWN, THE SWORD, LAMB OF GOD, and MACHINE HEAD. Critics attending the October 21 opening night in Glendale, Arizona, were ecstatic with Spin.com declaring that if the first show was "was any indication, rock's not dead. Check its pulse." The Arizona Republic noted that "METALLICA burst out of the starting gate with a ferocious two-hour show that left no doubt that the band is still the monster of American heavy metal."
